How much does a sheet-metal electrical enclosure cost?

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.
This example open electrical-box body sells for $529.10 at one, $96.02 each at ten and $69.93 each at 100. The estimate includes the CRS blank, eight bends, four installed fasteners, corner welding and powder coating. A complete rated enclosure with a door, seal and electrical certification is a different scope.

Price the developed blank before the bent box
Assume a supplied 22 × 18-inch flat pattern, 0.060-inch CRS, intended for roughly a 12 × 8 × 4-inch body with return flanges. It contains four quarter-inch mounting holes and four 0.213-inch fastener holes. The eight bends are entered directly; this dimension schedule does not calculate an approved unfold or demonstrate that the returns clear the tooling.
Material uses the engine's $0.95/lb CRS input and stock allowance. A real nest may require a full purchased sheet even when the allocated blank weight is small. Check corner reliefs, grain direction, allowed rotation and usable remnants before treating the modeled allocation as a purchase order. The price table isolates stock from setup and run cost.

Hardware and corners need people
Four PEM-style fasteners carry ten lot setup minutes, two running minutes per body and $2.40 in purchased hardware. Those are explicit example allowances rather than a current fastener supplier quote. Confirm the actual fastener designation, hole preparation, press tooling and access before ordering; the brand-style description does not define the installed product.
Corner welding adds twenty setup minutes and twelve minutes per body at $90/hour. This allowance covers weld and dress work, but it does not establish leak tightness or a test standard. Cosmetic corners, continuous seams or distortion control can require a different route. The operation table also shows the laser, brake and deburr calculations so those stages do not get counted twice.

| Laser cut | $175.00 | 15 | 1.2 | $0.00 | $0.00 |

Coating and enclosure scope must agree
Powder coat uses a $200 minimum compared with a $7 size-scaled piece total, a $2.50 piece floor and a 12% fee. It is not a $200 setup added to every piece charge. Receiving inspection, threads and electrical contact areas should be reviewed with the coater. Masking and special surface preparation are excluded from this example.
The body is open: a door, hinges, latch, gasket, ground stud, wiring accessories and a rated performance test are not included. Tell the buyer that boundary before comparing the number with a catalog electrical enclosure. A listed off-the-shelf box can be a different purchasing decision from a fabricated shell made to a proprietary drawing.
All costs receive 30% markup and the $65 minimum line price. Tax, freight and expedite are outside the estimate. At production quantity, use actual insertion, welding and inspection minutes from a prior lot. A fast cutting cycle does not make hands-on assembly disappear, especially when the return flanges restrict access.
