How much does E2 Shop System cost?

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

There is no public price. ECI's E2 MFG page has no pricing, and it is titled for existing customers. New job shops are sold JobBOSS², which ECI calls "formerly E2 Shop". Its pricing page says only that the price is "tailored to the specific scale of your manufacturing operations and the depth of functionality required". An existing E2 shop's cost is whatever its contract and renewal say. A new buyer's cost is a JobBOSS² quote. Either way, the license is rarely the biggest number. The worksheet below adds the internal hours, which a vendor quote doesn't show.

What ECI publishes

ECI publishes no list price for E2 MFG or JobBOSS². For JobBOSS², it says packages are scaled so small and mid-sized shops "only pay for the tools they need", that implementation takes around 3–6 months, and that deployment can be multi-tenant cloud, private hosted cloud or on-premise. The deployment choice changes the price structure: a cloud subscription bundles hosting, while on-premise adds your own server and IT time.

We didn't find a current, sourced E2 price we could trust. Numbers on third-party ERP review sites couldn't be traced to ECI, so we left them out. The one first-hand figure we found is old and about the market, not E2: in a 2019 Practical Machinist thread, a shop that chose classic JobBOSS after demos wrote, "If you don't want to pay $10-20k (or more) up front, it was the only decent option I found." Treat that as one owner's experience from 2019.

What drives the number

When you ask ECI, or anyone else, for a quote, these are the inputs that move it. Get each one as a line item, not a bundle.

  • Users: full users vs shop-floor data-collection users, and named vs concurrent licenses.
  • Modules: ECI describes the AI BOM Builder, MES and CRM as modular add-ons on JobBOSS²; ask which of the others you need are extra.
  • Deployment: multi-tenant cloud, private hosted cloud or your own server.
  • Implementation and training: days included, travel, and the price of extra days.
  • Data migration from E2: who does it and how many years of history move.
  • Annual maintenance or subscription increase at renewal, and the contract term.

The part a vendor quote leaves out

Your own people's time is a real cost. The cost table at the end of this page uses placeholder inputs: $45 an hour loaded cost, 120 hours of data cleanup, 16 hours of training for 8 people, and 6 hours a month of upkeep. On those inputs, internal time comes to $20,880 over three years before any license. Replace each input with your own estimate, then add the vendor's quote to get a comparable 3-year number for staying on E2, moving to JobBOSS² or going elsewhere.

If the renewal is driving the question, ask what staying on E2 MFG costs for three more years, and how long ECI commits to supporting your version.

Internal cost worksheet (placeholder inputs)

  • • Loaded staff cost $45/hour (placeholder)
  • • Migration 120 hours; training 16 hours × 8 people; upkeep 6 hours/month
  • • 36 months
  • • Add the vendor's license or subscription, implementation and hosting from its written quote
