MIE Trak Pro is a quote-to-cash ERP: its public pages describe personalized estimating formulas, RFQ approvals, assemblies, routings, sales orders, scheduling and accounting. The best alternative depends on what you need to preserve. QuotedPart is smaller for fast shop-rate quotes. MRPeasy is lighter and publishes per-user pricing. JobBOSS² and ProShop are broader job-shop ERP paths. Compare how a revision, outside service and estimate-versus-actual record move through the system before comparing license prices.

Start with the record you cannot lose
If MIE's quote-to-job continuity is working but RFQ intake is slow, a separate quoting layer may be safer than an ERP replacement. If the shop struggles with inventory, quality, scheduling or accounting handoff, another ERP is justified. Write the required records down: customer, part and revision, material, routing, outside processing, inspection, due date, PO and estimate-versus-actual cost.
Give each alternative a 1018 shaft RFQ at quantities 1, 10 and 100. Require a quote, a routing, a material commitment and an accepted order. Count manual re-entry and record which assumptions remain editable.
| Option | Published shape | Stronger when | Migration question |
|---|---|---|---|
| MIE Trak Pro | ERP with quoting, routings, scheduling, inventory, quality and accounting. | One quote-to-cash record is the requirement. | Can the current workflow be tuned before replacement? |
| QuotedPart | $199/month per shop; 14-day no-card trial. | The immediate issue is transparent RFQ arithmetic. | Who owns the job after quote acceptance? |
| MRPeasy | $49–$149 per user/month; no contracts; 15 + 15 day trial. | Lighter production and inventory control fit. | Can it cover your quality and outside-service cases? |
| JobBOSS² | Tailored price; ECI describes 3–6 months implementation. | A conventional job-shop ERP is needed. | Which MIE records migrate? |
| ProShop | Customized ERP/MES/QMS pricing. | Precision-shop traceability and quality control are central. | What data and implementation work are included? |
When a quoting layer is enough
QuotedPart can handle the front-end assumptions—setup, cycle, material, finish, margin and quantity breaks—while MIE remains the production system. It is weaker on inventory, scheduling and estimate-versus-actual job costing. The handoff can be a reviewed CSV or manual entry; do not describe it as an MIE-native connector without proof. Price the handoff at the planner's burdened rate before deciding.
This path is attractive when only a few RFQs need CAD/PDF interpretation and the ERP already owns the records after award.
When an ERP alternative is warranted
MRPeasy is the budget-visible option for lighter manufacturing control. JobBOSS² is stronger when an established job-shop deployment and ECI ecosystem fit. ProShop is stronger when quality, inspection and shop-floor control must sit beside estimating. MIE may still be the best answer if its existing quote-to-cash record works and the migration cost would exceed the benefit.
Request each vendor's export format and a reference shop with a similar mix of one-offs and repeats. The best alternative is the one whose first record matches the shop's first failure.
