Paperless Parts vs CloudNC Quote Agent
Price one of your own parts: Drop a STEP model or PDF drawing — about 90 seconds, no account.
Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.
Paperless Parts is the broader estimating operation; CloudNC Quote Agent is the lower-commitment AI workflow. Paperless Parts does not publish a blanket price and says its quote depends on modules, integrations, onboarding and contract length. CloudNC publishes free manual quoting, AI plans from $20 per month, per-part usage, DFM/ballooning/FAI outputs and Enterprise security options. Choose Paperless Parts when you need a shared estimator and ERP integration. Choose CloudNC when commercial CNC volume is uneven and you want to start small.

Price and output shape
CloudNC's public price is easy to trial but needs a usage calculation. A basic AI quote uses one part credit per component; DFM uses two and ballooning/FAI uses four. Eight simple parts therefore fit the $20 Starter plan, while eight parts with DFM use 16 credits and require the $50 20-part option. Manual quoting uses no credits. Paperless Parts has a negotiated total instead, but its platform can be a better fit for large quote packages and a stable estimator team.
Run a 3-axis aluminum plate and a drawing-only RFQ. Record credits, correction time, setup treatment, customer communication and ERP handoff.
| Question | Paperless Parts | CloudNC Quote Agent |
|---|---|---|
| Price | No blanket price or price range; priced by modules, integrations, onboarding and contract length, not by seats | Free plan at $0/month with 3 AI parts a month plus 10 parts at signup, no card; manual quoting without AI uses no parts; Starter: $20/month for 8 parts, $50 for 20 or $100 for 40; single user; $2.50 per part, overage $3.75 per part; Professional: $200/month for 83 parts, $500 for 208 or $1,000 for 416; multi-user; $2.40 per part, overage $3.60 per part |
| Inputs | 2D and 3D CAD files and PDFs, viewed without native CAD software | RFQs forwarded by email, or uploaded CAD files, PDFs and drawings; no specific CAD formats named |
| Estimate | Configurable estimating formulas and geometric attributes. | The agent proposes a manufacturing plan, routing times, material and post-processing costs and inspection requirements from the shop's equipment and costs entered in Myshop; the estimator reviews, sets the price and sends a PDF |
| Extra outputs | Quote and workflow outputs; confirm reports for your plan. | Generates DFM reports, ballooned drawings and first article inspection reports (PDF, FAI also Excel) |
| ERP/security | Live ERP integrations named: Epicor (10/11/Kinetic), ECI (E2 Shop, JobBOSS, JobBOSS², M1), Fulcrum, Global Shop Solutions, Infor VISUAL/SyteLine, ProShop, Made2Manage, MIE Trak Pro; ITAR registered, hosted on AWS US GovCloud, designed for manufacturers pursuing CMMC Level 2 | No ERP integration named; CloudNC says it works regardless of CAD, CAM or ERP and needs no CAM or CAD seat; Enterprise enhanced security. |
Where Paperless Parts wins
Paperless Parts wins when the shop needs a structured RFQ queue, more than a handful of estimators, and a broad integration boundary. Its public page names CAD/PDF viewing, feature attributes, nesting and live ERP integrations. That is a better fit for a contract manufacturer whose quoting process itself needs governance. The cost and implementation are less visible, so ask for the three-year proposal and a migration plan.
It may also be stronger when the quote package includes many line items and customer-specific rules that a per-part credit model does not describe well.
Where CloudNC wins
CloudNC wins for uneven commercial CNC volume, a shop that wants a free manual mode, or a team that values DFM and FAI documents from the same workflow. Its public process list covers milled, turned, mill-turn, Swiss, grinding, EDM, cutting and forming; sheet metal is not named. CloudNC is also explicit that the estimator reviews and adjusts the plan before sending the PDF, which is a healthy boundary for AI output.
QuotedPart is a third option when the shop wants unlimited users and editable rate arithmetic. It is weaker than CloudNC on AI-generated DFM/FAI reports. Pick the tool whose correction loop your estimator can finish before the quote deadline.
