Is QuotedPart a good alternative to PriceFab?

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

QuotedPart is a reasonable PriceFab alternative when a small shop needs visible setup, cycle, material and finishing assumptions and does not need a public fabrication storefront. PriceFab's current public page positions it around fabrication quoting, but the page checked October 30, 2026 did not verify a complete price, trial length, file matrix or ERP handoff. PriceFab may win on its own fabrication intake. QuotedPart wins on a known $199-per-shop price, unlimited users and a human-reviewed branded quote.

Test the fabrication exceptions

Fabrication quotes fail on exceptions: a plate nest leaves an unusable remnant, a weldment needs fit-up time, a powder coat has a lot charge, or a customer changes thickness after the first quote. Ask PriceFab to show those cases, not only a rectangle. Record the file type, material catalog, bend or weld assumptions, minimum charge and the approval step before the customer sees a number.

QuotedPart can express the same work as explicit events. For a 12-piece 14-gauge bracket, enter 35 minutes setup, 4 minutes cut and bend per piece, $72 sheet share per lot, $180 powder-coat lot charge and a 20% margin. The estimator can explain which part changes when the customer moves from 12 to 60 pieces.

Where PriceFab could be stronger

PriceFab is worth selecting if its workflow matches the shop's most common fabrication jobs and reduces the estimator's file cleanup. Ask for a live quote on a DXF nest, a welded assembly and a powder-coat lot. If it provides a customer-facing quote or a connector your shop already uses, that can outweigh a less visible public price. Put the exact process coverage and support terms in the proposal.

Do not assume that an online fabrication quote includes the shop's true setup or remnant policy. Make those rows visible in the pilot.

Where QuotedPart is clearer

QuotedPart gives a small shop a published boundary and an estimator-controlled model. It is weaker than a fabrication specialist on automatic nesting or geometry recognition, so the shop must validate cut length, yield and bends from its normal CAM or CAD process. That is a fair trade when the shop's competitive edge is knowing its rates and reviewing every quote.

Pick PriceFab after its current terms and edge cases are verified on your files. Pick QuotedPart when a transparent, editable quote is the immediate need. Preserve the same 12-piece bracket and correction notes so the decision remains reproducible.

Sources and limits

Claims are dated where they can change. Product calculations are examples from the stated inputs, not a promise about a customer's quote. Competitor wording is attributed to the source shown.
