Is QuotedPart a good alternative to Quotation Factory?

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

QuotedPart can replace Quotation Factory when your shop wants the estimator, rather than a public storefront, to own the final number. Quotation Factory's public pages emphasize online quotation and customer intake, but the page checked October 30, 2026 does not publish enough detail to verify its price, trial, supported file types or ERP handoff for a US job shop. Quotation Factory may be stronger for self-service requests. QuotedPart is stronger on visible shop rates, a $199 per-shop price and a 14-day no-card trial.

Separate intake from cost authority

Online intake reduces email, but it does not answer who may change a rate, accept a tolerance risk or promise a due date. Ask Quotation Factory to show a customer upload that includes a drawing revision, quantity, material and finish, then show the internal approval path. Verify whether the customer receives an automatic price or a reviewed quote and where the shop can hold an RFQ for engineering review.

QuotedPart assumes a shop-owned queue. For a 10-piece 304 stainless spacer, the estimator can enter $90 setup, 7 minutes per piece, $24 material and $18 passivation, then apply margin and send a branded PDF. The customer does not see a number until the estimator accepts those assumptions.

When the online path wins

Quotation Factory is worth selecting when customers repeatedly ask for a quick online response and the shop's processes can be standardized. It may reduce front-office re-entry for simple work and give sales a single place to see requests. Put unusual materials, outside processing, minimum charges and engineering holds in the pilot. A portal that cannot route those exceptions will create a second queue instead of removing the first.

Ask for the export before the pilot ends. The shop should be able to take customer, part, revision, quantity, price and attachments into the system that owns production.

When the estimator-owned path wins

QuotedPart wins when the shop sells judgment: tolerances need review, material availability changes, and the same geometry can run on different machines at different rates. It is weaker on anonymous self-service ordering and customer checkout. That trade-off suits a small US shop whose owner still approves the quote and wants the assumptions to remain editable.

Choose the online tool if it shortens a tested customer journey. Choose QuotedPart if it shortens the estimator's cost decision. In either case, retain the same part, revision and correction notes so the comparison remains fair when public pricing changes.

Sources and limits

Claims are dated where they can change. Product calculations are examples from the stated inputs, not a promise about a customer's quote. Competitor wording is attributed to the source shown.
