RealTrac, ProShop and JobBOSS² are all broader than a quoting tool, but their buying boundaries differ. RealTrac publishes flexible monthly, annual and one-time purchase options without dollar prices and covers quoting through inventory. ProShop customizes an ERP/MES/QMS deployment and emphasizes precision-shop quality and shop-floor records. ECI positions JobBOSS² as a job-shop ERP with tailored pricing and roughly three to six months of implementation. Pick the system that owns the record your shop currently loses; a focused quoting layer may be enough if production already works.

Three ERP shapes
RealTrac is the flexible buying shape. Its public pricing page says a shop can choose no-contract monthly SaaS, annual SaaS or a one-time software purchase with payment plans up to 12 months. Its product page lists quoting, routing, job costing, MRP, purchasing, inventory and accounting integration. That is a sensible fit when the shop wants one shop-management system but needs to control cash commitment.
ProShop is the controlled precision-shop shape. Its public pages list ERP/MES/QMS modules, estimating templates, quality and inspection, scheduling, inventory and maintenance. JobBOSS² is the established job-shop ERP shape, with ECI describing tailored pricing and an implementation period of about three to six months.
| Decision point | RealTrac | ProShop | JobBOSS² |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Module- and user-based packages, sold as monthly SaaS with no contract, annual SaaS, or a one-time software purchase with payment plans up to 12 months; no prices published | Pricing customized per shop; standard and government options; request a proposal by form | ECI says tailored; request a proposal. |
| Quoting | Quoting, routing and job costing modules. | Template-driven quotes with the shop's labor, material and vendor costs, margin guards and quantity breaks; awarded quotes convert to customer POs and work orders | Confirm estimator depth and template behavior in the demo. |
| Production | MRP, purchasing and inventory. | Modules include shop floor management and scheduling, calibration and maintenance, quality and inspection, inventory and material planning, and cutting tool and workholding management | Job-shop scheduling, production and accounting scope. |
| Quality | Confirm required inspection and document controls. | ERP/MES/QMS and inspection modules. | Confirm quality scope and add-ons. |
| Implementation | Choose SaaS or purchase path; scope services. | Customized implementation. | ECI says around 3–6 months. |
Pick RealTrac for flexible commitment
RealTrac is stronger when a small shop wants a broad shop-management system with a monthly or one-time commercial path. Ask for a quote that separates users, modules, implementation, accounting integration and support. Test a revision and an outside service in the same workflow used for quoting and job costing. If the process is already familiar to your team, the lower change cost may outweigh a longer feature list elsewhere.
RealTrac is weaker when the shop needs a public price or a clearly documented modern API; those details were not established by the pages checked. Put the missing facts in the proposal.
Pick ProShop or JobBOSS² for a larger control boundary
ProShop wins when quality, traceability and shop-floor control need to sit beside estimating. JobBOSS² wins when an established job-shop ERP implementation and ECI ecosystem fit the operation. Both are heavier than a quote-only fix, so ask for a phased plan, data export and a reference shop with similar RFQ volume.
QuotedPart is the third option when the ERP record works and only quote arithmetic is slow. It is cheaper and faster to trial, but it does not replace routing, inventory or inspection. The fairest decision is to price the record your shop needs to own, then test one revision from RFQ to shipment.
