Is QuotedPart a good alternative to Dashnode?

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

It depends on what you need at the end. Dashnode is an AI CNC costing tool: you upload a STEP file, pick material and quantity, and download a cost breakdown. It is built for speed and volume, and Dashnode says it can cost thousands of files a day. QuotedPart covers the rest of the quote: it reads the RFQ email and PDF print as well as the model, prices every quantity break at your rates, and sends a quote page the buyer accepts with a PO. If you need cost numbers fast for many parts, Dashnode is the closer fit. If you need a sent quote, QuotedPart is.

Side by side

Dashnode's column comes from its own pages, read on October 30, 2026. Its pricing page lists Growth, Scale and Enterprise plans but shows no prices; each plan has a "Get Detailed Quote" button. We found no ERP integration on the pages we checked.

Where Dashnode is stronger

Dashnode is built around one job, costing a CNC part from its model, and it is made for doing that at volume. It lists bulk costing, DFM analysis and part management. Its customers include costing service providers and OEM buyers checking supplier prices, which a shop-side quoting tool doesn't serve. You can try it without a card on 100 free credits. Dashnode says its machining-time estimates are around 90% accurate. That is the vendor's own figure, so test it on parts you have already run.

  • Choose Dashnode if you cost many STEP files and need the cost report itself, for example to check supplier quotes.
  • Choose it if your team already sends quotes from another system and only needs the cost behind them.

Where QuotedPart fits better

Most RFQs to a US job shop arrive as an email with a PDF print, sometimes without a model. Dashnode starts from a STEP file. QuotedPart reads the print for material, finish, tolerances and notes, and can price a part from the drawing alone, listing its assumptions. The output is a quote the buyer can accept with a PO, not a cost report. The price is published, and JobBOSS² and JobBOSS users can send the quote straight in.

QuotedPart is weaker on bulk costing and DFM, and it doesn't serve buyers costing other shops' work. ITAR parts go in the ITAR vault: files encrypted in the browser before upload, and the AI never reads them.

Test both on the same part

Both tools let you try them free. Pick a part you have already made and know the real hours for, and run it through both.

  • Upload the same STEP file and enter the same material, quantity and machine rate.
  • Compare the machine time each gives against your actual hours, not against each other.
  • Check what you would still do by hand before the buyer gets a quote: reading the print, adding finish and outside services, setting quantity breaks, sending.
  • Note what each costs at your monthly volume. Dashnode only quotes its price on request.

Claims are dated where they can change. Product calculations are examples from the stated inputs, not a promise about a customer's quote. Competitor wording is attributed to the source shown.
