Is QuotedPart a good alternative to QuoteBuddy?
Price one of your own parts: Drop a STEP model or PDF drawing — about 90 seconds, no account.
Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.
Yes, if your shop needs a US-focused quoting workflow for STEP models and PDF drawings rather than QuoteBuddy's automatic interpretation of PDF, PNG and JPG technical drawings. QuoteBuddy is cheaper to sample: its free plan gives unlimited AI quotes for 30 days, then three a month, and paid plans start at €149 per month. QuotedPart is $199 per shop per month with unlimited users and a 14-day trial without a card. QuoteBuddy is stronger for quick sheet-metal or CNC drawing intake; QuotedPart is stronger when the estimator needs editable setup, cycle, material and quantity assumptions in one shop-rate model.

The decision is about your input file
QuoteBuddy's public page says it reads PDF, PNG and JPG drawings and can cover sheet-metal laser cutting, CNC turning and milling. That is a useful fit for a customer who emails a drawing and expects a first quote without a native CAD file. QuotedPart accepts STEP models and PDF prints, so the estimator can combine geometry with drawing notes and then run the part through the shop's own rates. If most RFQs arrive as scanned drawings, test image quality and dimension interpretation before you compare subscription prices.
Use the same 2.00-inch aluminum spacer for both tools: 20 mm outside diameter, 10 mm bore, 0.25-inch thickness, quantity 10, deburr only. Record what each system inferred, which values you corrected, and whether setup is spread across the lot. A lower first answer is not better if the estimator has to rebuild it before sending.

Where QuoteBuddy wins
QuoteBuddy wins when the bottleneck is turning a clean drawing image into a starting quote and the shop wants a short, visible price ladder. Its automatic nesting language is relevant to sheet metal, where yield can dominate the answer. A shop with three estimators can also find the three-seat Starter plan easier to understand than a negotiated contract. Verify the language and currency for your US operation, and ask what happens after the free period's three monthly AI quotes are used.
QuotedPart is weaker when a shop wants QuoteBuddy's image-first workflow or a public multi-seat tier. It does not claim to infer every dimension from a raster image, and it does not replace a nesting optimizer. That limitation is useful to state before a trial rather than discovering it on a rush RFQ.
Where QuotedPart wins
QuotedPart wins when your rate sheet is the product. You can show the customer that setup is $180, cycle time is 6.5 minutes per piece at $95/hour, material is $42, and the 10-piece quantity break is based on the same arithmetic. The estimator can change the setup or scrap assumption without discarding the drawing. That makes it a better fit for a small shop whose competitive edge is knowing its real cost rather than accepting a black-box image estimate.
Pick QuoteBuddy when drawing intake and nesting are the urgent problem. Pick QuotedPart when rate control, repeatability and an explicit ERP handoff matter more. Either way, keep the test part, corrections and assumptions with the trial record so the eventual choice is based on a quote your shop would actually send.
