CNC quote review checklist
Price one of your own parts: Drop a STEP model or PDF drawing — about 90 seconds, no account.
Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.
A quote can have correct arithmetic and still be wrong for the job. Use this checklist before sending a CNC quote, and keep the completed copy with the estimate so the next person can see what was checked.

Technical package
Confirm that the model and drawing are the same revision and that the estimator can open both. Record what is missing instead of silently choosing a material, finish, or tolerance.
- Part number and revision match the customer's RFQ.
- Material, temper, thickness or stock form are explicit.
- Quantity breaks, tolerances, threads, finish, certificates, and inspection requirements are captured.
- The chosen process and number of setups match the model or drawing.

Commercial package
Review the cost lines and quote terms as a separate pass. Setup, programming, material, machine and labor, outside processes, and margin should explain the price at every quantity break.
- Material rate and lot minimum are stated.
- Setup and programming are amortized across the lot, not hidden in a per-part guess.
- Outside-process lead time, freight, tax, and exclusions are clear.
- The recipient, expiration, payment terms, and attachments are correct.
Questions to send back
If a missing answer could change the price or delivery date, ask before pressing send. A short clarification is cheaper than a silent assumption that becomes a re-quote.
- Which revision should govern if the files disagree?
- Is the finish callout required on every quantity break?
- Does the customer require first-article, material, or dimensional certification?
- Is the requested date a ship date or a receipt date?
Sources and limits
Claims are dated where they can change. Product calculations are examples from the stated inputs, not a promise about a customer's quote. Competitor wording is attributed to the source shown.
- This is a workflow template written for CNC estimating; it contains no industry benchmark or customer performance claim.
