Use the QuotedPart MCP Server from Claude: Price a CNC Part in Claude Code
QuotedPart runs an MCP server at quotedpart.com/mcp. Added to Claude Code with one command and one sign-in, Claude prices a part from its STEP file and PDF drawing in your QuotedPart shop, at your rates, and saves it as a quote.
- Part and inputs
- A STEP file and a PDF drawing of the NW-1042 mounting bracket, a QuotedPart sample part for a fictional company, in a local folder; Claude Code with an Anthropic API key; a demo shop at QuotedPart's U.S. default rates.
- What it shows
- Claude sends the model and drawing to QuotedPart's estimate_price tool and answers with a quote number, the price and lead time at each quantity, and the drawing callouts to check. A follow-up prices the part in 304 stainless at every quantity, saved as its own quote next to the 6061 one, and flags that stainless can't be anodized.
- Recorded on
- The live app at quotedpart.com, nothing sped up, on-screen text instead of a voice. Published on YouTube .
The guide that goes with it: Connect an AI assistant to QuotedPart (MCP).
