Best sheet metal quoting software (2026)

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

Sheet metal picks for 2026: QuotedPart (ours) for autonomous AI quoting of laser, waterjet and press brake parts from STEP, DXF or PDF on the shop's own rates; Tempus Tools and CutQuote for nesting at a published price. Paperless Parts fits ERP-heavy and defense shops; SecturaFAB, SigmaQUOTE, Lantek and Quotation Factory tie the quote to a production nester; DigiFabster puts an instant-quote portal on your website; Fulcrum is an ERP with quoting built in. QuotedPart does not nest parts on a sheet, so if shared-sheet yield decides your price, a nesting tool is the stronger fit. Every vendor fact below was read on the vendor's own site on November 4, 2026. There are no scores and no overall winner, only what each tool is best for.

See how QuotedPart connects to your workflow with its API, MCP server, autonomous quoting and shop-specific learning.

Best for: one pick per kind of sheet metal shop

Start with the job you need done. A laser shop selling cut blanks, a fabricator quoting welded assemblies and a shop drowning in emailed PDF prints need different tools, and the strongest product for one is a poor buy for another.

  • QuotedPart: best for autonomous AI quoting. Forward the RFQ email or drop a STEP model, DXF flat pattern or PDF print, and the AI reads it, routes the part through your laser, waterjet and press brake and prices every quantity on your rates, for an estimator to check and send. One published price covers the whole shop. It does not nest.
  • Paperless Parts: best for ERP-heavy and defense shops. It unfolds and nests multiple parts on the same sheets, names the longest list of live ERP integrations here, and is ITAR registered on AWS US GovCloud. Pricing is set by sales.
  • Tempus Tools: best for laser shops that want published tiers and a web store. Automatic nesting on every plan, folding, welding and powder coat in the quote, and a 14-day trial; Starter is capped at 20 jobs a month.
  • CutQuote: best for the lowest published entry price with true-shape nesting. Starter is $85 a month for one user and one machine, with STEP unfolding and unlimited nesting; quoting from vector PDFs needs Professional.
  • SecturaFAB: best for complex fabrications and assemblies. True-shape nests, machine run times and configurable calculators, with direct links to JobBoss, Epicor and Global Shop. Demo first, no published price.
  • SigmaQUOTE (SigmaTEK): best for shops already running SigmaNEST. Quotes draw on SigmaTEK's inventory, remnant and processing-time data and convert to work orders.
  • Lantek Integra Quotes: best for shops on Lantek CAD/CAM and MES. Its nesting simulation draws directly on Lantek's CAD/CAM engine; a lighter iQuoting subscription covers 2D parts.
  • Quotation Factory: best for European sheet metal factories automating the whole quote. Automatic nesting and bend deductions, connectors to Ridder IQ, MKG and TruTops Fab, from €1,870 a month plus setup.
  • DigiFabster: best for an instant-quote portal on your own website. Buyers upload CAD and order online; drawings without a model go to manual review.
  • Fulcrum: best for replacing your ERP with quoting built in. A DXF uploaded on a quote generates a nest and updates material and machine time; pricing follows shop revenue and integrations.

Price, trial, inputs, nesting and ERP side by side

Prices are list prices in each vendor's own currency, before tax and payment-processing fees. "Not published" means the vendor's page gives no number; "none found" means we found no self-serve trial on the pages checked, not that a vendor will never arrange one.

Nesting or not: the first decision

Eight of the ten tools here say they nest. That matters most when several part numbers share a sheet, when remnants go back on the rack, or when a thick plate costs enough that a few percent of yield is the margin. If that is your work, shortlist Tempus Tools, CutQuote, SecturaFAB, Quotation Factory or Paperless Parts, or the quoting module of the nester you already run (SigmaQUOTE with SigmaNEST, Integra Quotes with Lantek).

QuotedPart takes the other route. It prices material from each part's flat blank plus 5 mm (0.2 in) in length and width and assumes 80% of the sheet becomes parts; when a job buys whole sheets, the estimator enters that material cost on the part, and your nesting software still decides the real layout. That is fine for mixed job-shop RFQs where the hard part is reading the print, counting bends and getting a quote out the same day. It is the wrong tool if the price depends on how ten different parts fit one 48 × 96 in sheet.

A quick test shows what a nest is worth on your own parts. Take a sheet that costs $120 delivered. If your approved nest fits 60 blanks after edge margins and grain direction, material is $120 / 60 = $2.00 a blank. A bounding-box estimate that fits only 48 gives $2.50. On 120 blanks the gap is $60 before cutting or markup. These are example numbers, not savings measured in any product here; run the same arithmetic on a job you have already cut.

Test the press brake, the PDF print and the price at volume

Bring three real RFQs to every trial or demo: a clean DXF, a folded STEP bracket and a PDF-only print with material and finish written in the title block. On the bracket, check that the tool counts the bends and puts brake setup and run time on separate lines. Quote it at 5, 50 and 200 pieces: an $80 setup should add $16, $1.60 and $0.40 a part before markup. If it doesn't, find out where the setup went.

The PDF-only print separates the tools fastest. QuotedPart reads the drawing and can price a part from the print alone, listing what it assumed. SecturaFAB lists vector and raster PDFs among its supported files; Tempus Tools and CutQuote quote from vector PDFs, CutQuote from its Professional plan up; DigiFabster sends PDF and image uploads to manual review instead of an instant price. A scanned print is not a vector PDF, so test with the kind your customers actually send.

Price the subscription at your real size. Tempus Tools' Starter covers 20 jobs a month; CutQuote's Starter is one user on one machine; DigiFabster's entry tier covers one technology and adds processing fees on online orders; Quotation Factory adds a one-time setup fee. Paperless Parts, SecturaFAB, SigmaQUOTE, Lantek and Fulcrum quote a price after a demo. Our price survey compares what Tempus Tools, DigiFabster, Paperless Parts and the CNC tools cost and what the price scales with.

Where QuotedPart is weaker

We make QuotedPart, so here is what it lacks. No nesting, no DFM report, no ballooning or FAI, no scheduling, inventory or accounting: it is a quoting tool, not an ERP. For sheet metal that means no true-shape nest, no remnant tracking and no machine program. Tube and structural profiles are not among its listed processes; Tempus Tools and CutQuote quote them. Paperless Parts and SecturaFAB name ERPs QuotedPart has no link to, such as Epicor and Global Shop, so a shop on those systems would move quotes by CSV or Excel.

What it does well is the first pass on a messy RFQ: reading the email and the print, routing the part through cutting, bending and outside finishing on your own machines, and pricing every quantity break with the formula behind each minute visible and editable. Try that on your own parts before you weigh the gaps.

Questions

What is the best sheet metal quoting software in 2026?

It depends on the shop. For autonomous AI quoting of laser, waterjet and press brake parts from STEP, DXF or PDF on your own rates, QuotedPart (our product). For nesting at a published price, Tempus Tools or CutQuote. For ERP integrations and defense security, Paperless Parts. For quoting tied to the nester you already run, SigmaQUOTE or Lantek. For an instant-quote portal, DigiFabster.

Which sheet metal quoting software includes nesting?

Paperless Parts, Tempus Tools, CutQuote, SecturaFAB, Lantek Integra Quotes, Quotation Factory, DigiFabster and Fulcrum all say they nest on their own pages; SigmaQUOTE uses SigmaNEST's remnant and inventory data. QuotedPart does not nest: it prices material from the flat blank plus an allowance.

Which sheet metal quoting tools have a free trial without a sales call?

QuotedPart (14-day trial, every feature, no card), Tempus Tools (14 days on every plan), CutQuote (14 days, no card) and DigiFabster (7 days, no card), as of November 4, 2026. Paperless Parts, SecturaFAB, Quotation Factory and Fulcrum start with a demo.

Can sheet metal quoting software quote from a PDF drawing?

Some can. QuotedPart reads PDF drawings and can price a part from the print alone. Tempus Tools, CutQuote (Professional and up) and SecturaFAB import vector PDFs, and SecturaFAB also lists raster PDFs. DigiFabster puts PDF uploads into manual review rather than giving an instant price.

How much does sheet metal quoting software cost?

Published list prices run from CutQuote's $85 a month for one user and QuotedPart's $199 a month for the whole shop, through Tempus Tools at $100 to $500 and DigiFabster from $415 billed annually, to Quotation Factory at €1,870 a month plus €5,490 setup. Paperless Parts, SecturaFAB, SigmaQUOTE, Lantek and Fulcrum don't publish prices.
