How much does Uptool cost?

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

Uptool advertises pricing from $195+ per month, depending on total employees and ITAR. It asks you to send those details to sales for your specific price. At an unchanged $195 floor, three years would be $7,020 before tax, but that is a lower-bound calculation, not an offer for your shop. Its published terms also say month-to-month with no upfront cost and a free one-week trial for US shops under 100 people, checked October 30, 2026.

Count employees before comparing estimator seats

Suppose a fictional shop has two estimators, eight machinists and one office manager. The relevant number to send Uptool is its total headcount of 11, rather than the two people who normally prepare quotes. Its trial-page FAQ assigns the $195 starting point to 1–2-employee shops and says most shops pay $195–$495 monthly. That is vendor-reported guidance, not a price survey or an 11-person quote. Ask how part-time workers, owners, contractors and a second location are counted. The public page does not give brackets from which an 11-person shop can calculate its own exact subscription.

That makes the starting price useful for deciding whether to investigate, but insufficient for approving a budget. Request the price for today's headcount and for a plausible growth case. Also establish when a headcount change affects billing and whether a temporary staffing increase is treated differently. These are questions for the offer, not extra charges assumed by this guide.

A three-year number is a scenario, not a commitment

Use 36 times the quoted monthly amount when you budget three years at a constant rate. The starting point gives $195 × 36 = $7,020. If sales provides a different amount, replace $195 rather than adding an imagined per-estimator fee. There is no published employee-pricing formula in the page reviewed, and this guide does not invent one.

QuotedPart publishes $199 per month for unlimited users, so its constant-rate subscription total is $7,164. The $144 difference from Uptool's advertised floor over three years is small enough that the workflow should decide the shortlist. Neither total includes your staff's setup time, data cleanup, taxes or a future price change. Monthly cancellation rights also differ from a promise that a rate will remain unchanged for 36 months.

Give the one-week trial a narrow job

Uptool's pricing page lists quoting and CRM, CAD/drawing/BOM analysis, AI-powered estimation and real-time email and QuickBooks sync. Email and accounting sync are concrete reasons to consider it over a workflow that relies on exports. Ask for the exact edition of your accounting system and test the records you actually need rather than assuming the word sync covers every transaction.

Prepare three unrestricted old RFQs before the trial begins: one drawing-only job, a multi-part package and a repeat order with a changed revision. Record how much estimator attention each requires, what assumptions need correction and whether the final commercial record reaches the office correctly. These are evaluation tasks, not a claim that one week proves production accuracy across the shop.

What the public price does not settle

We did not verify a complete file-extension list, employee tiers, an ITAR surcharge amount or third-party review counts from this pricing source. Broad CAD support is not a guarantee that a particular assembly or drawing format will read correctly. Ask to use your permitted files in the evaluation and keep a copy of the exact terms you accept.

Approve the purchase when the written price and the trial both answer your own bottleneck. A shop losing RFQs in email may value Uptool's connected inbox more than a small subscription difference. A shop that needs visible operation allowances and a fixed whole-shop budget should compare those directly. The useful price is the one attached to the workflow you can actually adopt.

Sources and limits

Claims are dated where they can change. Product calculations are examples from the stated inputs, not a promise about a customer's quote. Competitor wording is attributed to the source shown.
