About Uptool
Uptool was founded in 2024 in San Mateo, California6, and came out of stealth in February 2026 with a $6M seed round from Khosla, Eclipse, Bessemer and Kleiner2. It reads a shop's quoting inbox, CAD, drawings and BOMs, and has material and operation calculators and a dashboard for revisions and messages. Its plans continue with CRM and job tracking, then purchasing, inventory, scheduling and shipping34. If QuickBooks sync matters most to you today, that is a point for Uptool.
What QuotedPart does
- RFQs by email forwarding, your own RFQ page, or drag and drop
- PDF drawings read for part number, revision, material, finish, tolerances, threads and notes
- STEP and IGES models measured in your browser: stock, holes, pockets, setups, turned features, sheet thickness and bends
- A routing on your own work centers and rates, with setup and run minutes for every operation, all editable
- Every quantity break priced, with cost, margin and lead time
- A quote page with your logo where the buyer picks a quantity and accepts with a PO, or a PDF
- Won quotes become orders; actual hours show where each work center runs over or under
How it fits your shop
- JobBOSS²: Send to JobBOSS² creates the estimates with routing and the quote.
- JobBOSS on your own server: Export for JobBOSS creates the quote with prices, routing and material.
- QuickBooks, E2 or any other ERP: quotes and won orders export as CSV or Excel.
- ITAR parts go in the ITAR vault, encrypted in your browser before upload.
- One published price for the whole shop: $199/month, unlimited users, no setup fee, cancel anytime.

Most shops quote in a spreadsheet
In a CNCCookbook survey, spreadsheets led "by a wide margin", followed by the "eyeball guestimate"1. On Practical Machinist: "Excel or Open Office Calc are what most people use"2, and "there is no software in between spreadsheets and the big players like E2 and JobBoss"3.
What a spreadsheet does well
- It's free, and you already have it.
- It's set up with your own rates and the way you think about a job.
- It does exactly what you tell it, with no new tool to learn.
Keep it for what it's good at: QuotedPart exports quotes and orders as CSV and Excel.
What QuotedPart adds
- Reads the PDF drawing: part number, revision, material, finish, tolerances and notes.
- Measures the STEP model: stock size, holes, pockets, setups and turned features.
- Prices every quantity break, with lower run times on bigger lots.
- Sends a quote page with your logo, or a PDF. The buyer picks a quantity and accepts with a PO.
- Shows when the buyer opened the quote, and keeps won and lost quotes with the reason.
- Finds similar parts you quoted before.
- Every estimator prices from the same rates and formulas.

About the team and the companyQuoting software for bigger shops is sold through demos, setup fees and multi-year contracts. We think a small shop should be able to see the price, run a part it has already quoted, and decide in an afternoon.
If a quote comes out wrong, email me the part. We'll look at it with you and fix the estimate.

We reply within one business day.
