Global Shop Solutions alternatives: choose the problem to replace

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

Shortlist JobBOSS², Fulcrum or ProShop when you need to replace Global Shop Solutions as the shop's operating system. If only new-part quoting is slow, evaluate that process separately before moving inventory, scheduling and accounting. There is no verified public price advantage to claim across these proposals. The useful comparison is which workflows you must retain and what a replacement must demonstrate on your own open jobs.

Three credible directions, with different proof required

Global Shop Solutions describes an integrated manufacturing suite with production and financial functions. Removing it means replacing those functions or choosing where they will live. A quote screen alone is insufficient. Vendor descriptions below were checked against their own pages on October 30, 2026; they are shortlist signals, not a scored implementation trial.

Make a migration inventory before a feature inventory

Start with five lists: open sales orders, unfinished jobs, stock and committed material, outstanding purchase orders, and financial balances. Each list needs an owner and a reconciliation rule. For assemblies, include parent-child relationships and drawing revisions. Do not presume a generic CSV transfer recreates the meaning of a live job.

For an illustrative migration budget, suppose your team spends 80 hours cleaning item records and 40 hours checking open jobs, valued internally at $60/hour. That is $7,200 of staff effort before software, consulting or training. If you run 20 jobs per week and keep both systems for four weeks, 80 jobs need an agreed system of record. These are planning assumptions, not a vendor implementation estimate.

Use a failure case rather than an ideal demo

Ask each supplier to run one job where the customer changes revision after material is bought. Show the new quote, revised router, obsolete documents, purchase commitment and eventual actual cost. Then partially ship the order and inspect what remains scheduled and billable. A product that handles your awkward job well is more useful than a long checklist of loosely related features.

Fulcrum's quoting page describes DXF nesting and schedule-derived completion estimates; ProShop describes quotation templates and conversion into work orders; JobBOSS² documents rate-based estimating. Verify how those published strengths fit your processes rather than assuming every implementation includes the same setup.

When keeping the ERP is the better alternative

If purchasing and production trust Global Shop Solutions, changing the ERP solely to read drawings faster is a large scope expansion. Test a separate quoting layer on ten new RFQs and record preparation time, corrections and handoff effort. QuotedPart can be considered for PDF and STEP quoting, but its CSV/Excel export needs an agreed destination mapping. It does not replace ERP inventory, financials or scheduling.

Sources and limits

Claims are dated where they can change. Product calculations are examples from the stated inputs, not a promise about a customer's quote. Competitor wording is attributed to the source shown.
