Getting a quote into Global Shop Solutions: what to map and verify

Your part priced in about 90 seconds, no account.

To move a quote into Global Shop Solutions, first agree whether the destination is a BOM, an estimate/router or a finished commercial quote. The vendor documents customer BOM import/export and estimates built from single-level or BOM routers; that does not establish a universal quote-import file format. Ask your ERP administrator for the supported path and a sample accepted by your installation. QuotedPart provides CSV/Excel exports, but those are source files for an agreed mapping, not a promised Global Shop Solutions connector.

A BOM is not an approved selling price

Global Shop Solutions' own BOM and estimating pages were checked October 30, 2026. They describe BOM import/export, router creation, cost buildup and won-quote conversion to sales orders. A parts list can reach the ERP without carrying setup minutes, outside-service allowances or the estimator's approved margin. Treat those as separate data requirements.

Choose a record owner before building the transfer. If the ERP calculates final selling prices, send the source quantities and manufacturing assumptions and approve its result. If another estimator owns the customer price, verify how that approved number is retained and whether the ERP can recalculate it. Neither approach should leave two teams believing the other owns pricing.

Use a control total to catch a 60-times error

For an illustrative 25-piece part, assume 90 minutes of setup and six minutes run per piece at $100/hour. Setup costs $150 and run costs $250, for $400 operation cost. Add $250 material and $100 of outside finishing: total cost is $750. At 30% markup the approved quote is $975, or $39 each. Freight and tax are excluded.

A setup value of 90 must not become 90 hours, and six minutes per piece must not become six minutes for the whole order. Reconcile both times and costs after import. Also check the supplier minimum: an outside $100 lot charge becomes $4 per piece here, but should not stay $4 if the buyer orders five pieces under the same minimum.

Prove failure handling as well as success

Use a test company or administrator-approved staging process. Submit one part with a missing work-center code and require a clear rejection or review state. Then retry a successful transfer and confirm how duplicates are prevented. Keep the source quote identifier and imported record identifier together so a person can audit what happened.

Paperless Parts lists Global Shop Solutions among its live ERP integrations. Customiser describes a scoped export/API path rather than a pre-built connector. These are different kinds of handoff and should be evaluated as such. A vendor list alone does not prove which objects or revisions your configuration transfers. For QuotedPart, include mapping and reconciliation effort until your own accepted sample proves otherwise.

Sources and limits

Claims are dated where they can change. Product calculations are examples from the stated inputs, not a promise about a customer's quote. Competitor wording is attributed to the source shown.
